Ada sprints up the stairs. She grabs the guardrail of her steps with one of her new hands to pivot hard towards the door of her room. She almost trips over her new insectoid abdomen behind her. The buzzing closes in behind her. Frantically she shakes the handle until it clicks. She takes two steps in before trying to slam the door. She helps as her wing catches near its closure, forcing her to pull the door back, pivot her body and slam it shut. Not breaking her eyes off the light visible from the gap under the door, she trembles as it gets snuffed out by hundreds of small silhouettes.
Backing up she trips again over her abdomen, falling back. She feels her heart beat in her antennae, a ringing in her earholes. She balls up. When she shut her eyes, she saw flashes of a cold stone-bricked hallway. She sees the blood on the wall, gaps along the flat surfaces that divot into cells with rusted iron bars. She remembers the emblem of the two assassins that were dragging her. Soon, the hallway’s end was visible. A steel door creaked open in front of Ada. It was pitch black, the candle light only making two buckets visible briefly in the corner; one with water and one that was empty. They tossed her in, stripped down to her bare self. She turns to the door, only seeing a slider on the door’s worth of light. A pair of hands slide through holding out honey combs, throwing them life frisbees. Then, the door opened. Ada only saw a silhouette of the giant hive that was thrown into the room and smashed onto the wall before the door shut. The room began to hum with a primal rage of a disturbed swarm. Ada ran to the corner, trembling. It only took one to find her, to sting her to embed the moment in her mind. It only took one sting for the rest to follow.Ada screamed, grabbing her arms as only the sensation of another pair of arms holding each other brought her back to the present. Across the room she saw them, crawling under the door and beginning to spread around the room. Soon a central herd forms and marches towards their new queen.
With a whimper Ada backs away until her body was flattened against the wall. Her legs tremble as the bee collective start crawling up her fuzz-covered legs. Ada sniffles, trying not to cry as they begin enveloping her. In her head, all she can hear is a chorus of buzzes rattling her antennae like morse code, all of it saying ‘Queen. Queen. Queen’Ada grips her head, trembling as the bees begin crawling up her chest, then neck, and finally her face. “GET OFF OF ME!” Ada shrieked. In a moment, all the voices in Ada’s head ceased until she heard them repeating a new order. ‘Scatter. Scatter. Scatter.’They spread down from Ada’s bee-like bodice. They covered the bed, the walls, and some were even starting to pollinate the flowers around her room. Ada opened her mandible-bracketed mouth before something caught in her throat. Perhaps it was the shock and fear she is feeling. She gags once, twice, and finally throws up. Though unlike the sandwich luncheon she had before, what she pukes up is not food, but instead liquid that quickly hardens into wax. It hit the floor like a sack of tiny potatoes. Soon, the bees of her unwilling kingdom barked a new order. ‘Build. Build. Build.’Before the hour’s up, Ada will have two sets of honeycomb protruding from her wall and floor. Ada herself lays on the bed, shivering as bees climb up and down her foreign body. Soon, one climbs up to Ada’s face with a new order. ‘Feed. Feed. Feed.’ The bee tries to slide a cell of something into Ada’s mouth, though only smearing it onto her lips. Ada huffs and blows the bee away, and is forced to smack her lip as a sour taste lingers on her tongue. Yet once the tiny sample left her lips, she seemingly felt a need for more. Like clockwork, two more bees arrive with cells of this sour jelly. This time, Ada hesitantly allows them to drop the cells off at her lip.
Ada smacks her lips. “Oh Gods what's happened to me…”Ada whines, looking around at the bees who impose no harm for their queen, yet their queen is seemingly terrified, keeping them on-edge. But at least this time, Ada can keep the lights on and be fed by this insectoid regime. Perhaps if she shut her eyes, it’d all go away.

The sun was setting through the window on the far end of Ada's kitchen. For an entire day, she stayed confided to her seat at her dining table. For an entire day, she stared at the deep blue wall across the table from her. Though many could tell just from a headshot of her that Ada has been put through the ringer, with her eye half-swollen and most of her skin miscolored from bruising, the rest of her body had taken the brunt of her most recent loss. Many injuries were not fatal, but required minimal movement on Ada's part to heal properly. To achieve this, her doctor had bound her in a tight cast made of large leaves medicinal saps. Her mobility has been limited, and now is forced to slow down.Ada turns her head to the kitchen. "Gods I'm so hungry..." She sighs, slowly turning her head to the kitchen. Slowly she shuffles to the edge of the chair, using her limited bodily movement to gyrate herself so she is lined up to the kitchen. She thrusts forward to balance on her immobile legs. Left, right, left, right, she slowly balances and wobbles to the countertop with her cabinets and stove. Looking down at her stovetop, she gets the vague recollections of her many attempts at cooking. Ada scans the countertop, and looks at the pantry as if she could recall every item inside without opening the door. "A sandwich shouldn't be too hard."Ada rotates her entire body so her casted arm can grab a spoon from the back of the counter. A large wooden spoon, a perfect tool to open the cabinet and slide out the bread and sauce bottle. She tilts back, balancing on one foot. With a flick of the wrist the spoon manages to catch on the edge of the circular knob. With decisive force Ada rotates her entire body, carrying the spoon with it to open the cabinet door. Just slightly above her head she saw it. The bread. Without hesitation Ada attempts at a small hop. She just manages to grab the edge of the bread sack with her teeth, dragging it out of the cabinet and letting it flop onto the countertop."Now the sauce..." Ada does her balancing act once more, ascending the spoon to a shelf beyond her sight. The spoon lunges forward to smack on a piece of glass. The sound gave Ada the assurance this was the sauce she wanted. She slowly led the sauce bottle to the edge of the cabinet shelf. Ada leaned back, readying her body to not exactly catch, but to roll the bottle onto the countertop with an angle using her cast after a short drop. The bottle teeters on the edge of the shelf. Ada primes herself to catch it... then a knock on the door. Ada turns her head away from the kitchen, "Just a minute!" It was unfortunate how much her body is forced to move with her head, as the bottle took its fall, sloped to the side of Ada's cast where she was looking and crashing on the floor. "My sauce!" Ada looks down at the cracked glass, only to see something truly dreadful. ". . . That's not my sauce." Smoke begins to bleed from the broken bottle, seeping out and dissipating into the air. The lanterns and candles in Ada's home flicker as a new chill shoots through Ada under her cast. With her wrapped foot Ada slowly turns the bottle to see the label in wytch's handwriting. 'Eversmoking Bottle'. "Fuck."
The doors of her kitchen rattle. Ada turns, "Apologies spirit, I didn't realize you weren't my sauce bottle. If you'd be so kind as to get back into a bottled vessel. The sauce bottle will be free once my sandwich is made-" A violent whisper echoes beside Ada's ear. 'S a n d w i c h'.The cabinet doors all violently swing open. Ingredients begin to fly out and fling into the air. Bread flies out of the bag with many flinging across the room at Ada, or at the wall behind her. A whirlpool of food and utensils swirls around Ada. Through the maelstrom Ada sees her counter, where two pieces of bread present themselves. The sauce bottle Ada sought floats over the bread, coating both sides. Dill covers one slice while pickles shingle the other. Chicken slams atop the pickles followed by blood red tomatoes, ghostly white onions, lettuce whose life hangs by a thread, a deep colored mustard and finally, bacon blackened by the burning soul of the damned. The top bread levitates, and presses itself down before glowing with the same eversmoking aura of what rested inside the bottle. With a loud clank, all the utensils and food flying in the air drops to the floor. Ada stares down the sandwich now glowing on her counter. "You know... I don't feel that hungry anymore." Ada turns away from the kitchen, only to see Beroe standing in the entrance."I told you to not try and cook for yourself Magister! Look at this mess!"Ada looks around the kitchen and sighs, confiding it's easier to take the fault than to explain the origins of this accursed, tantalizing sandwich on her countertop.

Among the town of Moonflower flowers begin to bloom with the rising sun that had not felt so warm in months. A dew settles over the open patches of grass and windows. From the trees birds begin to sing as a radiance washes the horizon. The first day of spring in Templehelm has arrived.
Light pierces through the stained windows of Ada’s house. Her face scrunches, and slowly she opens her eyes. For a moment, she enjoyed taking in the ambiance of her room. She laid there serenaded by the finches outside, and the snoring of Hazel just out of her view.
Eventually, the duty of the day wills her out of bed, and towards her wardrobe. On the door she had picked out an outfit prior for this day. A special day. She turns to leave once fully prepped, only to stop for a moment to look back at Hazel still asleep on the bed.
Ada smiles, sneaking back over to the bed to place a card beside Hazel’s slack hand, and gives her a peck on the cheek before she ventures to the beach of this exciting party. On the way, she makes sure her pin is fastened to her low-cut shirt tightly. The clown face on the pendant gleamed in the light of the first Spring morning.A sigh of satisfaction escaped her lips as she saw a trio of golems on the beachfront hoisting poles up for the canapes. Afar she saw Condor banging nails through the board of the newly made stage. Stepping through the developing festival area, she focused her gaze on the grand blue ship at rest just before the beach. On the deck, she smiles at the sight of vibrantly-colored frogs working in a line to pass around and spread the bounty of snacks across the deck floor. Mealworms, grubs, maggots and insects. At the top of the compost bin where these delicacies were being harvested from was Roger the white frog who helped prepare all this. No doubt sampling the food to assure the highest quality. In her ear an effeminate voice chimes in. “The notes are ready, though I ask if this is all worth it for your ego.” Ada turned back to the beach, stepping back towards the field.
“This is a religiously sanctioned event, Virginia. It’s just a grand party for the turn of the season.” Ada said nonchalantly as she spotted a stripped-down golem holding a packed envelope. “And if a lesson can be made from this for Svarog, all the greater.”For the late morning, Ada heads around the hotspots of Templehelm, leaving notes and flyers for a grand festival hosted by Svarog at her home. All the while continuing the chat with her assistant. “Yes because there is not a better lesson than to not pull a prank on the mighty Ada Do O’ Grant, is there.” Virginia said, dripping with sarcasm.Ada walks under the shade of one of Moonflower’s many cherry tree branches, revealing brief streaks of pale-white makeup and blonde hair before reverting back to Ada’s more natural appearance. “She wedded Beroe without telling me, Virginia.”“Actually Magister, going through their vows and the ceremony, I can validate that the only region in Templehelm their vows would be legally binding is Tyrmrdis, where Svarog has no such jurisdiction to wed people.”Ada hums as she slips a note under the next door on her visit list, addressing it to Byron, though he seemed to have had a misprint, stating the party to be an hour later than intended. “It’s the principal of things, Virginia.”“And so your plan is to humiliate Svarog, leave her to clean up the mess and expect she will concede after all your specially invited guests cause havoc?” Ada folds an invitation to a paper plane, and tosses it into the hallway of The Abbey. “Well no. I’ll incentivize her to concede.”“And how are you going to do that? By pantsing her in front of everyone if she says no?” After a long day, Ada returns to the complete festival grounds, now with a wooden box under her arm. “Pirates love treasure, Virginia. And this one loves dragons most of all.” She taps her fingers on the box, ready to watch Svarog’s Springtime party commence.
